Loving Difficult People

How can I possibly love them???

So Frustrated You Could Scream?

People and situations can leave us frustrated and even angry. If we allow it, our emotions can get the better of us and cause us to react in ways that are anything except loving.

God calls us to love others, at all times. The question is how can we do that when we are so frustrated? The answer lies in the Holy Spirit’s power within the heart of every believer.

How the Holy Spirit Operates in the Believer

The Holy Spirit living in our heart will always guide us and speak through us to love others…IF…we allow Him to do so.  The key is that we must yield our flesh (mind, will and emotions) to the prompting and peaceful voice of God’s Spirit within us.

The Power of Feeding on the Word of God

Every time we read, study, hear and take in the Word of God, the Holy Spirit is powerfully working with our reborn spirit to renew our mind to God’s ways. We leave behind our old ways of acting and reacting and begin to act according to God’s ways.

The truth of God and all of the fruit of the Spirit already reside in the believer’s heart. To love others as Jesus loved us is as simple as allowing our soul to yield to the voice of the Spirit within our heart. Challenge yourself to be intentional about making a daily deposit of the Word of God in your born-again spirit. Remember, what’s in our heart is what comes out of our mouth!

A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.” Luke 6:45

Fill your heart with God’s Word, and it will produce good fruit! When you least expect it, you’ll hear yourself speaking the Word of God. Celebrate those little victories in your journey with God and be encouraged.

Never underestimate what the Holy Spirit is doing with every word of God in your born-again spirit. Even when it seems your mind is unfruitful, the Holy Spirit is deposting great things inside your heart!

Loving as Jesus Loves

29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Mark 12:29-31

Jesus said the greatest commandment is all about love.

Learning to love the way God loves is our key to loving others.

New Testament Fruit

New Testament Fruit

“Be on your guard against false religious teachers, who come to you dressed up as sheep but are really greedy wolves. You can tell them by their fruit. Do you pick a bunch of grapes from a thorn-bush or figs from a clump of thistles? Every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree is incapable of producing bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit. The tree that fails to produce good fruit is cut down and burnt. So you may know men by their fruit.”

Let us learn to keep our eyes open, to listen and know.  The Spirit of God will always guide us into truth….people, may not.

The Word of God is our lifeline.  Don’t let go!

Bearing Good Fruit

It was planted in good soil by many waters, To bring forth branches, bear fruit, And become a majestic vine. Ezekiel 17:8

Where’s the Fruit?

Winter and spring are the times when natural fruit, such as oranges, grow and ripen. When they are ripe, they are perfectly fit for God’s plan for their use.

God’s plan for us is to grow and continually ripen to become perfectly fit for His purpose for our lives.
